SS 1/2500, Aperture F 5.6, ISO 400
the aperture for this is total overkill, I just happened to snap this shot in between shots of a monster truck doing donuts...

these were really tricky...lots of adjusting between SS, Aperture and ISO to bring out some of the green in the trees and still get the sunburst...

SS 1/400, Aperture F 5.6, ISO 400 Aperture Priority

SS 1/4000, F 5.6, ISO 1600 Shutter Priority

I took the picture with my Macro lens adapter thing-a-ma-bobber. What I learned...ISO 1600 puts off a lot of noise and I still don't have any clue about what I'm doing:-)

SS 1/30, Aperture F 5.6, ISO 100, Aperture Priority 300mm
I know it's not in focus but I love the oil painting effect - it's unedited

My attempts at a photo shoot with my girls.

06

SS 1/500, Aperture F 8, ISO 400, 300MM
My camera really had a hard time finding this little guy to focus on amongst all the cat tails and such. But perseverance finally paid off and I did catch him mostly in focus. I love my zoom lens!

03

Enjoying the apple squeeze, an experiment in ISO speed and some practice framing a close-up.

SS 1/125, Aperture F 5.6, ISO 200

SS 1/400, Aperture F5.6, ISO 400

SS 1/125, Aperture 5.6, ISO 800

This was an experiment in Aperture Priority. I took essentially the same picture in different ISO settings. I need to do more reading. I thought the higher the ISO the more light my lens would capture. But looking at the results of the pictures the lower the ISO the brighter the picture. Am I totally backwards?
My tutor says it was a crappy experiment. I guess I needed to take more identical pictures.

02

Apple squeeze picture study...

SS 1/800, Aperture F 5.6, ISO 400 and SS 1/80, Aperture F 5.6, ISO 400

I wanted to catch the individual apple pieces as they flew into the barrel after being pulverized. And if you look closely the camera did capture individual chunks. But you can't see a thing, the shutter was so fast not enough light was allowed in. So I changed my shutter speed in the next one and got light but less freezing of the frame. Now I need to try doing both. Time to refer to the manual again:-)
